ADVERSARIAL - Solitude with the Eternal

Here we have the third full length by this Canadian three piece Blackened Death act. I first got into this band with their second full length Death, Endless Nothing and the Black Knife of Nihilism. That originally came out in 2015 and on Dark Descent Records. In all honesty I got that release in 2017 and immediately became a fan. I'm pretty sure it was a year later when I got their debut full length, All Idols Fall Before the Hammer, which came out in 2010.
Now what makes ADVERSARIAL so cool is that they're part of the whole modern take on the Blackened Death genre sound. There's brutality and melody woven together with destructive drumming. Add to that the guitar work crosses into hypnotic territory and still kicks into some violent rage. The vocals are bestial as it gets. Add to that you've got great production which just leaves the listener in a captive gaze.
And that's also what I thought about em years ago. So here we are now almost a decade between releases. This style of modern Blackened Death still packs a hell of a punch. But it's not so kick ass as it once was. Nowadays it's just damm good.
