RAZOR - Armed and Dangerous EP (Reissue)
Relapse Records
Everyone should know Canada's RAZOR by now. They're the band who showed the world there's cool thrash from the great white north. Once their debut full length Executioner's Song from 1985 hit the public. Soon to be heshers got infected with those cold riffs by Dave Carlo. Essentially the mid-80's out put by them (five album's worth) sealed the deal for their place in the genre's history.
But prior to their second tier thrash metal fame the band released a 12" EP, Armed and Dangerous. It came out in 1984, had seven tracks with five of those eventually appearing on Executioner's Song. Musically it's basically demo cuts since the superior versions would be re-recorded a year later. But for completists / collectors it was something cool to own. Albeit you were not going to toss away your copy of their debut. Plus the cover art is damm good.
The only problem I have with this reissue is that it's been done before multiple times. Hell, last year Germany's High Roller Records put out a 35th Anniversary Edition of it. But hey it's up to you to compare and see which is the better product for collecting reissue purposes. I don't know if they offered it in a t-shirt bundle but hey it's your money.
