NECROCHAOS - Crawling Through Cadavers EP

This ain't your mother's German death metal. NECROCHAOS is a one man diabolical act. The one man being multi-instrumentalist Eugen Kohl. This guy has been behind a slew of one man projects over the recent years including CRYPT WITCH, DEATH CARRIER and DONARHALL to name a few.
This originally was a three song demo from 2019. But Gods of War Productions latched onto it and attached two more cuts to make it a five song release. To me that's an EP but hey you can argue amongst yourselves about that.
Musically this sits in that modern well previously done by HOODED MENACE and PORTAL. We're talking cavernous bestial vocals maybe recorded somewhere in the black forest or inside the turret of an old Panzer tank. I'm just guessing. You've got some exceptionally aggressive riffs that push the fast and doom cycles.
In the end it's good. I'm surprised that there was no searing leads to slice through the death doom. As an EP it's decent. If this went on as a full length I'd be bored after a while. I mean this style of death doom has been so overplayed in recent years.
And sure old school Swede Death has been over done as well. But at least that has some melody. This is basically I hate you and I hope you find yourself alone in a cave where the beasts that dwell there will eat you alive.
