So the tagline on this release is depressive black metal. But frankly I don't find it depressing at all. Actually it's fairly uplifting. This is the debut album by this Polish three piece. On it you get six cuts, no song titles just Roman numerals, which lasts a little over thirty four minutes. To me that's about perfect for a late night after work listen.
Now as I said earlier, their style of black metal is not what I'd call depressive. A better description would be melancholy. The riffs mainly fall into a melodic sensibility. There's plenty of jangle guitar portions with some added distortion for the electric chair feel. Programmed blast beat runs and guitar rhythms slide in and out of a second wave BM influence soup.
Add to all of that you've got some really harsh and tormented vocals. I mean A. Sarg must expel cold air when he speaks. So in the end this is a decent debut from this Polish BM act.
